New Library Lego Wall

The Imperatore Library kicked off the addition of a lego wall to the library makerspace with a week-long challenge to the middle and upper school students. Using both a set of challenge cards and their own imaginations, students made a wide variety of designs. As students experimented, they improved their spatial awareness and problem solving skills. Check out some of the creative constructions below and stop by the library to add your designs to the mix.

The lego wall is added to the library makerspace.

Lexi created a Plinko game, just like the one featured on the gameshow The Price Is Right. If you drop a marble down the contraption, it will bounce around on the lego pegs inside and depending on how it bounces, will end up in various slots at the bottom. Drop the marble from a different slot and that will change the marble's course.

Stasiu completed one of the challenge cards and created a new flag design.

Election Survey

With the upcoming election, we created a survey for the middle and upper school students and faculty to see what issues are most important to our community. Some of the issues in the survey included: immigration, national security, terrorism, economy, health care, race, trade, crime, guns, abortion, environment, and education. Stop by the library or the Hajjar Stem Video Wall to see the full results posted.

Show Off Your Summer Reading!

Summer offers the time for DE students, faculty, and staff to catch up on reading and the start of school gives us the opportunity to share that reading with the community. In the library, we issued a summer reading challenge to take a photo of yourself with some of the books you read this summer. Check out a few of the more creative photos we've received below and stop by the library to see more. If you haven't sent in your summer reading selfie, it's not too late! Just email your photo to Mrs. Shaurette or Mr. Petkus.
