Summer Reading 2011

Looking for a great book to read this summer?  Check out one of these recommended titles that are all available to check out in the Imperatore Library: 

A Visit From the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan                                                         Several awards were given to Egan's Goon Squad including the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and LA Times Prize for Fiction.  Check out the LA Times review.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  The Tiger's Wife by Tea Obreht
Tea Obreht was selected as one of the New Yorker's 20 Under 40, twenty young writers who capture the inventiveness and the vitality of contemporary American fiction, and The Tiger's Wife won the 2011 Orange Prize for Fiction.  Read about it in The New York Review of Books.


Room by Emma Donoghue
This nominee for the 2010 Man Booker Prize was also featured on the cover of the New York Times Book Review.

 

In the Washington Post, Philip Kerr remarks, "I found Larson’s book to be utterly compelling, and while I was reading it there were several occasions on which I had to stop and check to make sure it really was a work of nonfiction."
