Summer Reading 2012

The summer is the perfect chance to catch up on all that reading you wanted to do throughout the school year, but didn't find the time.  Here are some recommendations for you, but if you are hungry for more, check out summer reading lists from the New York Times, the LA Times and the Daily Beast.

Read about this nonfiction account of the slums of Mumbai in the New York Times.
The circus setting of this magical realism novel follows two competitors in a mysterious contest.  Ideal for the beach, read about this one in the Washington Post.
Read about the life of technological visionary Jobs in Isaacson’s latest biography.  The Washington Times praises this book, calling it “fascinating, well-written, and well balanced.”
Listen to an interview with Susan Cain, who writes about the value of introverts, on NPR’s All Things Considered.
USA today calls this alternate history that explores the assassination of JFK “extraordinary Stephen King.”

  1. This is a great selection guys. I read the Stephen King book earlier in the year, and I heard a great interview on the radio with the author of the Night Circus.
