One of the most delicious moments for readers is the year-end popping-up of "best books" lists, so here's a bunch:
Slate.com has a list
of “the
10 most crucial books” reviewed by this online magazine in the past year. Also
check out: Slate’s
staff picks of the year and Slate’s list of 20
“overlooked” or “underrated” books from 2012.
Library Journal has published two lists so far: LJ’s
Best Books and Media of 2012 and Best
Books 2012: Staff Favorites. The publication’s Top 10 list comes out on
December 20.
Publisher’s Weekly gives us its Best
Books of 2012.
The New York Times has put out its 10
Best Books of 2012. Also take a look at its 100
Notable Books of 2012 and Best
Bathroom Books of 2012.
Goodreads.com, a
site for book recommendations and reviews that boasts over 12 million members,
has just released its member-driven “Goodreads Choice Awards” for Best Books
of 2012.
National Public Radio
(NPR) features its Best Books of
2012. Among the many interesting items there are “best of” lists in science
fiction, historical fiction, cookbooks, and graphic novels.
