Amnesty International Bakes and Educates
Sponsored by the Amnesty International club, the library hosted a bake sale and presentation about a human rights topic last Friday. The club starting out by showing a Coconuts TV video that wrestled with the issue of whether poverty tourism is a positive or negative occurrence. Then Belicia Rodriguez gave a presentation about the immense poverty of the Smokey Mountain slum in the Philippines. If you were unable to join us for this presentation, see club leaders Belicia Rodriguez or Rafaela Peralta-Vasquez for more information or check out the Amnesty International website.
